With the constant development of technology, automation technology is widely employed in steel billet production process. To decrease the defect of steel billet and reduce the cost has become the key factor to improve the production benefit and market competitiveness of enterprises. Steel factories need large consumption of conveyor rollers. However, under the influence of radiation from high-temperature steel billet and heat conduction, the working environment of conveyor roller becomes terrible. Therefore, to cool the conveyor rollers is the important way to prolong their service life. Through the analysis of cooling water’s influence on the roller temperature field, this paper provides theoretical basis on the design of cooling system in the future.The control scheme combined with PLC control technology, frequency control technology and PID control technology can effectively meet the need of cooling, thus taking place of the traditional control scheme. Therefore if can make sure the production can be smooth and effective. The major jobs of this paper are as follows:First, with the help of Fluent Software, this paper can analyze the actual heat convey process from the red-hot steel billet to the rollers. This paper brings in reasonable hypothesis to properly simplify the roller model. Then it imposes boundary conditions on this model to analyze different cooling conditions’influence on roller temperature field. Thus it provides theoretical basis to calculate the parameters of cooling water in the rollers.Second, according to the high temperature, high humidity and complex electromagnetic environment in steel factories as well as the economy principle, this paper builds a specific control scheme of cooling system, taking conveyor rollers for an example. It selects and analyzes all the hardware in this scheme. Based on the result, this paper designs a control system and draws the relevant circuit diagram.Third, this paper uses Kingview as the PC monitors software to achieve the remote monitor. According to the specific requirements of steel billet cooling system, this paper builds a monitoring interface, thus achieving such functions as the automatic operation of cooling system, information transfer, real-time monitoring and so on.
