| With the continuous promotion of cigarette manufacturing enterprise upgrading, the workshop environment air has a great change, volatile organic compounds are very easy to be adsorpted by tobacco, and have a great impact on the quality of the products. In order to investigate the adsorption characteristics of VOCs adsorbed in tobacco materials, a headspace-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(HS-GC-MS) method was developed to determine 10 kinds of VOCs such as BTEX(benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene), ketones(acetone, butanone), and esters(ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, butyl acetate) adsorbed in cut tobacco. The adsorption characteristics of VOCs adsorbed in cut tobacco were investigated under a certain VOCs concentrations in the air and a certain amount of adsorption time respectively, analysis of tobacco of different microstructures by using scanning electron microscopy, the reason of adsorption law is discussed, and the amount of adsorbed VOCs in the test samples of the production workshop was analyzed with the change of the time of the placement. The main contents of this paper:(1) A method for the analysis of headspace gas chromatography / mass spectrometry was established by optimizing the headspace conditions, the optimal headspace equilibrium condition was 100 ℃ for 55 min, matrix calibrator 1 mL of glycerol triacetate, the VOCs were quantified by external standard method with good linearity(R2>0.99) of the calibration curves, the recoveries were 93.2 %~102.1 % with the relative standard deviations ranged from 1.13 % to 3 %, the limits of detection and limits of quantification for the 10 kinds of VOCs were 0.01-0.04 μg/g and 0.03-0.13 μg/g respectively.(2) Cigarette tobacco on the adsorption of targets are affected by environmental concentration and adsorption time, the adsorbed quantity in cut reconstituted tobacco were significant larger than in expanded cut stem, and in cut tobacco were the least, and the adsorption capacity of ketones and esters were greater than BTEX. Under the same adsorption time, the adsorption capacity increased with the increase of environmental concentration. When the concentration of the environment is stable, the adsorption time is more than 3 days, and the adsorption capacity of benzene series is not changed with time, and the rate of adsorption of other targets increased significantly.(3) The microstructure and specific surface area analysis results of cigarette tobacco have shown that the total surface area of cut reconstituted tobacco gap is the largest, the cut tobacco is the smallest, and expansion cut tobacco and expanded stems silk is in the center. The reason why they showed the adsorption law is that they have differerent organizational structure and surface area.(4) Some of the VOCs were detected in cut tobacco sample which from new producing workshop, but it belongs to reversible process and VOCs will gradually desorption in the clean air with the extension of storage time. |
