Research On The Ralationship Between Environmental Concerns And Environmental Behavior Of Chengdu Residents

With the accelerating process of city and the improvement of people’s living standard, car ownership also showed a linear growth. The rapid increase in the number of motor vehicles has caused a very negative impact on air quality in central urban areas, while vehicle exhaust has become one of the important sources of urban air pollution. The environmental pollution lowered residents’well-being, strengthened the sense of relative deprivation, and weakened residents’ sense of gain to the reform and development. As we know, Traffic is an important tool. The nature of fair, inclusive and green has not been demonstrated while the government provides public products and residents accept public service. To develop low carbon traffic can respond to the government’s lack of responsibility and civic ecological demands effectively.This paper sets residents of Chengdu as the research object, researches the mechanism behind residents’"loud speech, silent action" in the face of environmental problems. By reading literature, this paper has four dimensions.Environmental concern is divided into environmental knowledge, environmental attitude, environmental value and ecological emotion; environmental behavior is divided into ecological management, consuming behavior, persuasion and citizenship behavior. Based on this, we can discuss the relationship between environmental concerns and environmental behavior from these dimensions.First of all, the article surveys Chengdu residents’environmental concern and behavior status through the questionnaire. Based on using descriptive statistical analysis, variance analysis, mean analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis, we explores the relationship between environmental concern and environmental behavior, and to establish integrated model of the popularization of low carbon traffic. Secondly, through the analysis of the sample data, we can draw the following conclusions:Chengdu residents generally have high level environmental concern; men have higher level than women in environmental behavior; as Chengdu residents become older, have higher education, have more income and live longer, they will pay more attention to the environmental friendly behavior; environmental behavior and environmental concern are inconsistent. Finally, based on the research results, this paper puts forward management suggestions from four aspects, which are rooting in local situation, cultivating ecological emotion, improving travel experience and exploring the advantage of communityWhile standing on a macro perspective of the whole article, the popularization of low carbon transportation in Chengdu should not be limited to technology innovation. The fundamental driving force for sustainable development of environment consists in all participation of people. In fact, the real meaning is concerning the main body of the environmental behavior and policy enlightenment in the context of environmental recession.
