The metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) based on nitrogen-heterocyclic carboxylic acid ligands have become an emerging class of solid-state chemistry, which was due to their potential applications in drug delivery, molecular recognition, optical sensors, magnetism, catalysis, gas adsorption and separation. By hydrothermal method, fourteen complexes were synthesized based on the 5-(tetrazol-5-yl) isophthalic acid and 5-(3-(tetrazol-5-yl) phenyl) isophthalic acid, and were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. At the same time, the powder X-ray diffraction of complexes 10-14 have been tested, the complexes 3,10-14 have been determined by fluorescence spectrum, the magnetic properties of complexes 1,3,6 were investigated. The famulas of 1-14 are as follows: [Co2(TZI)(OH)(H2O)2]n(1) {[Pb2(TZI)(OH)]·(H2O)2}n(2) {[Cd3(TZI)2(H2O)8]·(H2O)3}n (3) {[Cu(H2TZI)2(BIMB)(H2O)]·(H2O)3}n (4) {[Co3(TZI)2(BIMB)3(H2O)2]·(H2O)2}n (5) {[Co(H2TZI)2(BIMB)(H2O)2]·(H2O)2}n (6) [Ni(HTZI)(BPB)(H2O)]n(7) [Co(HTPIA)(BBIMB)]n (8) {[Mn(HTPIA)(H2O)]·(H2O)7}n(9) {[La(TZI)(H2O)5]·(H2O)3}n (10) [M(TZI)(H2O)5]n(11-14)[M=Pr(11), Gd(12), Sm(13), Ce (14)]Complex 1 is a two-dimensional bilayer structure,2 exhibits a 2D coordination polymer with a kgd topology.3 is a 2-nodal (3,4)-connected 3D net and belongs to a 3,4 T1 topology. Complexes 4 and 6 are one-dimensional chain, which are further linked into 3D network via hydrogen bonds.5 is a 3-nodal (3,4,4)-connected 3D net. Complex 7 is a 2D square network structure.8 and 10 are two-dimensional layer.9 is one-dimensional double chain structure.10 ~14 are one-dimensional double chain structure and extend into a 3D network by hydrogen bonds.
