Paper takes Qidong mine in WAN BEI area as the background. The surrounding rock is characterized by mudstone and it is greatly influenced by faults and ground stress, which belongs to typical high stress soft rock roadways. The design is mainly based on engineering analogy lead to certain unpredictability. Firstly, serious bucking deformation and high repair rate happened, because there is no good part carries on the reasonable classification. Secondly, the cost has been increased because of excess supporting. In order to improvement of economic results and supporting decisions, it is feasible to research the classification and supporting methods. It has also studied 3 kinds of typical tunnels of the effect and pressure characteristics, database, classification methods, ways of differential support, intelligent decisions, with field survey, data collection and statistics, theoretical analysis, making supporting plan, computer programming, the site industrial test etc.Deciding classification of the development and preparation roadway is mainly considered the ratio of stress disturbance and comprehensive strength index. And the return roadway is mainly based on surrounding rock intensity, the face and adjacent face mining impact, as well as the earth pressure indicators. Calculating and confirming stability classification by using computer before collecting the sample database and selecting support ways and the main supporting parameters reasonably from the successful cases in different kind of the database, which is provided to offering the intelligent supporting decision-making of experiment roadway. Taking advantage of c# to program and realize the functions of library management, classification and differential support etc.As a result, it is successful to apply it to the scene. The paper research results, has important guiding significance in roadway support design of this mine. At the same time, other mine which is similar to can draw lessons from it.
