One-dimensional(1D) nanomaterials have attracted explosive attention owing to their unique structure and potential for novel applications in mesoscopic physics and fabrication of nanoscale devices. Up to now, silver nanowires(Ag NWs) as one of the most important 1D nanomaterials have attracted a lot of attention. Not only do Ag NWs have excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and bactericidal properties, but also have good properties of surface plasmon resonance. Thus, Ag NWs have been extensively used in touch screens, organic light emitting diode (OLED), conductive adhesive, sewage treatment, biomedical, electromagnetic shielding and other fields. Though their physicochemical property is highly dependent on the morphology and size of the Ag nanostructures, most of the current research are concentrated in innovation or improvement of its synthetic methods and structure-function relationship. Herein, in this graduation thesis, we intend to introduce a new method for synthesis Ag NWs, and based on this method we have achieved large-scale and controllable preparation of silver nanowires. The main results obtained are as follows:1. Large-scale and controllable synthesis of silver nanowires. Ethylene glycol (EG) and glycerin are used as a solvent, silver nitrate as a silver source, poly vinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as surfactant. On this basis, we continued to adjust the reaction conditions to achieve a variety of aspect ratio of silver nanostructures, simply controlled the final product in silver nanoparticles, silver nanorods, and silver nanowires, besides, Ag NWs have high purity by this method. This work offers a pathway to accelerate the practical application of silver nanowires.2. New functionalities of these obtained Ag nanowires have been achieved and their device fabricated, such as flexible transparent conductive electrode, elastic conductor and conductive ink, have been explored as well. (1) Large area, low cost and high efficiency to the production of flexible transparent conductive electrode were achieved by spraying method.(2) Poly dimethyl siloxane (PDMS) as a substrate, we can successfully constructed excellent elastic conductor using a screen printing manner. (3) The conductive ink is composed of silver nanowires and hydroxypropyl cellulose can be written directly on a variety of substrates, by means of a pen, we can arbitrarily draw conductive pattern. All this shows that the silver nanowires have good prospects.
