In recent years, people attach more importance to indoor decoration. They even pursue extreme luxury in the process of decoration, which causes indoor air pollution problem increasingly serious and draws people’s wide concern. Among indoor air pollutants, organic pollutant is most common and prominent. Most of them are volatile organic compounds and semi-volatile organic compounds. This paper selects TVOC, formaldehyde and phthalates as the typical indoor air pollutants concerned widely to analyze and study the features, law and sources of indoor air pollution. The paper considered TVOC and formaldehyde as indicative pollutant of indoor air pollution, summarized the concentration levels and features of TVOC and formaldehyde in domestic and foreign indoor air, and then measured the concentration of TVOC and formaldehyde of indoor air from 3122 households in Hangzhou,China in recent years. The average TVOC concentration is 0.611mg/m3, the concentration range is from 0.028mg/m3 to 7.2mg/m3, and the over-limit quantity is 1417; the average formaldehyde concentration is 0.179mg/m3, the concentration range is from 0.005mg/m3 to 0.88mg/m3, with the over-limit quantity 1752. Besides, this thesis determined the maximum and minimum of pollutant sources features according to a large quantity of measured value of TVOC. On such a basis, this paper categorized indoor air pollution into three types and determined the critical values with modified TVOC model and formaldehyde model:During the first 12 months after decoration is decoration pollution. After the first 12 month but before 24 months the indoor air pollution is transition pollution.24 months after decoration, it transits into consumption pollution. In addition, the paper clarified the features of each pollution type and further verified accuracy of critical values. And finally this paper proposed some suggestions to control the TVOC and formaldehyde concentration of indoor air at different pollution stages. The paper also described in detail the related literatures about the PAEs concentration level and characteristics in different indoor environment and summarized the sources and characteristics of indoor air phthalates. It proposed the concept of volatile strengthen coefficient and makes physical analysis, namely pollutant content of unit quality and unit surface area of pollutant source. The paper selected the plastic product as typical pollution sources and measured PAEs volatile strengthen coefficient of several common plastic products and made preliminary classification of common plastic products according to PAEs volatile strength coefficient. Besides, the paper firstly set up the diffusion model of PAEs concentration released from typical plastic products by exploring the correlation between the PAEs concentration measured from the environmental chamber and influencing factor referring to the environmental factors and PAEs volatile strength coefficient. The research in this paper enriched pollution feature database of typical pollutant(TVOC and formaldehyde), explored the critical coints, features and rules of different types of indoor air pollution, and disclosed optimal living time scientifically. Meanwhile, the paper made preliminary exploration of PAEs diffusion model of typical plastic products which provide the method for source apportionment of indoor air pollutants and also be the scientific basis and theoretical support for controlling indoor air pollution and improving indoor air quality.
