Desulfurizationof hot metal pretreatmentisahigh-gradesteelrefiningeffective methodcomparedwith othersorbent, magnesium-baseddesulfurizationsorbenthas a greaterability to usethe desulfurizationcanbe obtainedwith a highpurity, cleanliness ofsteel products.The preparation process is complex, and the cost is relatively high, and the utilization rate of magnesium in the whole process is very low.In this paper, we develop a new type of desulfurization agent and desulfurization process. The new type of desulfurization agent is a kind of electrolyte system made up of fluoride and magnesium oxide and a certain amount of solvent. The new type of MgS is used in hot metal pretreatment. At the same time, the Mg is generated by the MgO in the process of direct current electric field.If successful, it will replace the traditional magnesite, magnesium metal, passivation magnesium particles, desulphurization pretreatment process, a new desulfurization technology, it will reduce the energy consumption of the whole process, simplify the production process of desulfurization part, thus saving the cost of production.The literature on electrolytic desulfurization was seldom found.In this paper, we have studied the physical and chemical properties, such as the melting temperature, viscosity, initial crystallization temperature, molten salt density, conductivity and so on.Combined with the mineral phase coexistence theory, structure analysis, slag phase diagram theory analysis of the impact of a comprehensive study of various additives on electrolytic production of magnesium metal magnesium oxide, and ultimately determine the best desulfurization system.The research find that because the melting point of MgO is so much high, without any additives, it is very difficult to completely melt at the temperature of hot metal;in comparison with MgF2-CaF2-MgO, the NaF-MgF2-CaF2-MgO is completely melted at 1300℃, and the content of MgO is high, the viscosity is low and the electrical conductivity is large;the electrical conductivity of NaF-MgF2-CaF2-MgO is increased with the increase of temperature;through the melting temperature, viscosity, liquidus temperature, molten salt density, conductivity and other physical and chemical properties experiments combined with the mineral phase structure analysis, theoretical analysis, phase coexistence theory of slag and X ray diffraction analysis, and ultimately determine the new desulfurization agent for 18%NaF-63%MgF2-12%CaF2-7%MgO.
