Desulfurization of hot metal pretreatment is a high-grade steelrefining effective method compared with other sorbent, magnesium-baseddesulfurization sorbent has a greater ability to use the desulfurization can be obtainedwith a high purity, cleanliness of steel products. The preparation process is quitecomplicated, but the cost is relatively high, the whole process is very low utilizationof magnesium, carbon paper combines a thermal vacuum refining of magnesium andmagnesium based desulfurization technology, reducing the use of magnesitemagnesium metal vapor out without condensation direct desulfurization of hot metalpretreatment, if successful, it will replace the traditional metal magnesium magnesitepassivated magnesium particles desulfurization of hot metal pretreatment productionprocesses, to become a new desulfurization technology that will reduce the entireprocess energy loss and simplify the production process desulfurization section, thussaving the cost of production. Search found little literature.In this paper, based on the relationship formulated desulfurizer heat as the mainobject of study, determination of sorbent system﹑melting temperature viscosity andother physical and chemical properties, combined with the mineral phase structureanalysis, the coexistence theory of slag phase diagram﹑theoretical analysis,comprehensive study of the various reduction agents catalyst﹑heating agenttemperature and alkalinity regulating agents additives on the direct reduction of themetal magnesium magnesite implications for the use of magnesite magnesiumdesulfurization direct reduction of the metal to provide a scientific basis.We have found, according to the preparation of heat between the melting point ofthe desulfurization agent in accordance with requirements of hot metal desulfurizationfurnace, without adding flux, but its viscosity does not meet the requirements; adding0.5%CaF2, desulfurizer viscosity measurement range exceeds the device; adding1%CaF2, viscosity basically meet the requirements; adding2%CaF2, when thetemperature is higher than1420℃, the viscosity when compared with adding1%CaF2small, but when the temperature is lower than1420℃, the viscosity increasessharply. After X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis experiments DSCcurve analysis concluded that the best magnesite based sorbent ratio of adding1%CaF2containing50%MgO sorbent system.
