Hot metal pre-treatment is an effective method for carrying out deep desulfurization and it can reduce the burden of blast furnace and converter. In recent years, magnesium based desulfurization agent gets the favour of the major enterprises, magnesium based desulfurization agent has a strong ability of desulfurization can smelt high cleanliness of steel. Magnesium based desulfurization agent in the current application does not achieve the desired desulfurization effect. In this paper combines thermal vacuum refining of magnesium, magnesium based desulfurization technology and magnesite reduction of metal magnesium steam for hot metal pre-treatment desulphurization directly without condensation. If the method is successful, it will replace the traditional method of magnesium based desulfurization and becomes a new desulfurization technology which maybe makes the whole process simplified, costs savings and reduces energy consumption.This article is a further research which based on “Magnesite Base Desulfurizer of Metallurgical Physical Chemistry Research”, using MgO 38%, C 11%, Al 12%, Fe2O3 34%, SiO2 + CaO 5.3%, CaF2 0.7% as a desulfurization agent components. New desulfurizer added FeS, heated in high temperature furnace, and then through the phase analysis of the product of the reaction. This paper studies the desulfurization effects which in different initial sulfuric content and temperatures on new type desulfurizer. At the same time, the paper provides a strong scientific basis of magnesium based new desulfurization agent applies to hot metal pretreatment.The study found that MgS can be found by phase analysis, and this experimental finding explains the new desulfurizer can be used for desulfurization. The higher the initial sulfuric content makes magnesium based new desulfurization agent desulfurization rate and desulfurization efficiency higher when the temperature is the same. At the same time, desulfurization rate and desulfurization efficiency rise make the rising of temperature when the initial sulfuric content is constant. In this study, the highest desulfurization rate can reach 70% and the lowest desulfurization rate is 50% which in line with expectations of the experiment basically. Through the analysis of the experiment, magnesium based new desulfurization agent mainly concentrated in the first 15 minutes and the best temperature of new type desulfurizer desulfurization is 1450 ℃. |
