Thread parts are the most widely used mechanical parts in the machinery industry. There are many kinds of screw parts, complex geometrical parameters, high exchange requirements, and higher requirements for the detection technology. With the continuous upgrading of measurement instruments and the wide application of new technology, the measurement method is also greatly improved, which provides a favorable guarantee for the detection of the thread. On the basis of the detailed analysis of the domestic and international screw measuring device, a kind of high precision and large stroke measuring device for contact scanning measuring screw thread is developed in this paper. Thread measuring device scans the surface profile of thread being measured by using the measuring needle. With high precision grating respectively to record the location of axial and radial position of the axial section, the data were analyzed and synthesized by computer, generated measured thread surfurce two-dimensional contour graphics, to realize the detection of large diameter, diameter, pitch and tooth type and half Angle of thread parameters. The main research work is as follows:First of all, to analyze thread measurement commonly used method, measuring principle; To understand the research status of the domestic and foreign thread measuring device; To determine the thread measuring device measuring principle and design of the task; The error distribution of screw thread and measuring devices.Secondly, the design of the mechanical system of the thread measuring device is carried out. To analyze and design X direction moving parts, Y direction moving parts, Z direction moving parts, V type fixture parts and top clamp parts of the mechanical structure of thread measuring device; The finite element analysis is carried out on the column, the base, the X workbench and the workbench. The selection, design and check of the wire rod, the bearing, the guide rail and the stepping motor are carried out; The selection of grating ruler; Finite element analysis and optimization of key parts in the design of components. To select the main control MCU, driver, power supply and serial level conversion module of hardware; To determine communication protocol of the upper and lower position machine; To complete program design of the upper and lower position machine of drive system.Finally, the research contents and deficiencies are summarized, which provides the direction for the next research work.
