In recent years, the popularization and application of transparent containers, household appliances visual windows, refrigerators, food plate and lamp shade makes the development prospect of transparent ABS/PMMA blends becomes more and more broad. However, due to the complexity of the preparation process of transparent ABS/PMMA and high fog, resulting in increased production costs, although the market demand for products is large, the supply is still dependent on imports to a large extent. Under the push of this kind of environment, ABS/PMMA that has low cost and fog has become a research hotspot. As is known to all, the light transmittance and haze value of ABS is high and PMMA is a high transparency and low haze material, so increase the PMMA in ABS/PMMA ratio can improve the transparency of blends, but due to the brittleness of PMMA, the increase of adding amount is bound to cause the toughness of ABS/PMMA decreased.In order to obtain the high transparency of ABS/PMMA blends, this paper proposes a solution, namely on premise of ensuring the toughness of ABS/PMMA blends products meet the requirements, increase the proportion of PMMA in the blends system and developed a transparent ABS/PMMA system. In order to achieve this goal, toughening ABS/PMMA blends has become the research focus of this paper.The way of physical melt blending modified ABS/PMMA system is the basic means of modified. Through the design of the ratio of materials, after the preparation of the materials through the melt granulation, and then injection molding standard test pieces, and finally using scanning electron microscopy analysis of the results, in order to verify whether the design of the material and the ratio of the selection of the synergistic effect of modified ABS/PMMA blends. In this paper, according to the different mechanisms and materials, three groups of tests were carried out, namely the rubber particles, core-shell particles and nano particles the three different modifier and auxiliary co modified ABS/PMMA blends, in order to study and verify the synergy of production.In the synergistic modification of ABS/PMMA blends with rubber particle modifier and auxiliary, the main material is PC and EBS. The data of contrast test show that, PC and EBS can optimize the properties of the blends, the tensile strength and impact strength of the system were improved in the case of adding a small amount of PC. EBS has a certain effect on the flow performance and gloss of the system. In the PC/EBS, there was a synergistic effect on the tensile and gloss modification of the system.The study of core-shell modifier MBS and EBS co modified ABS/PMMA blends showed that MBS has a very good modification effect on the material system impact performance, but the increase of the amount of MBS added to reduce the gloss of the system, after adding auxiliary EBS, gloss decrease becomes gentle. Moreover, MBS/EBS system in common to the impact strength of ABS/PMMA blends on performance than single modified material to effect. So, in this set of experiments, MBS and EBS modified ABS/PMMA alloy played a synergistic effect.The effect of surface modification on nano particles Nano-CaCO3 in modified ABS/PMMA blends is very weak, but the synergistic effect of Nano-CaCO3 and EBS in the modified ABS/PMMA blends improves the mechanical properties of the blends, and the optical properties of the blends are stabilized.
