Floating Casing Technology Research Of Extended-reach Well

Extended-reach well due to the long displacement and the friction,resulting in casing couldn’t be well in place,make difficulty to the cementing operation,the casing floating technology can solve the casing running problem of the large displacement well,and rovide strong technical support for the completion of extended-reach well.In this paper, based on the analysis of the force in the running casing process, the main factors affecting the casing are given.A supporting tool for floating casing is designed, which including a floating collar, a floating hoop, a floating shoe and a special cementing plug,and the ANSYSY software is adopted to check the structural strength of the important parts of the floating tools.Through indoor and outdoor test to verify the floating sealing,cutting performance,in order to achieve the field use conditions.Using the CAD to simulate the load of regular casing running process and floating casing running process,and analysis the load change with the depth. Determine the floating collar position by theoretical calculation and combined with practical experience to optimize the depth of floating collar,make the friction load minimum,and get better effect of the floating casing technology.
