Azoterazolate compound is a kind of high nitrogen and stable performance energetic material. According to the theoretical calculation and analysis, guanidinium azoterazolate is used as the combustible agent, Basic cupric nitrate is used as the oxidant agent in this study. The various performance of gas-generating agent are investigated by automatic calorimeter, TG-DSC-MS and mechanical tester. And the optimal gas-generating agent ingredient is determined.(1)Starting from 21 kinds of gas-generating agents, guanidinium azoterazolate/basic cupric nitrate gas-generating agent is chosen because of the low heat of combustion,the low combustion temperature and large gas production,specific values for:T-1826 K, F= 4.87 mol/(100g).(2) Guanidinium azoterazolate was synthesized from starting material 5-AT by oxidation and cation replacement.The product was characterized and determined as the title compound by FT-IR,1HNMR,13CNMR, Element analysis, HPLC, MS and SEM. The critical factors influencing the reaction were studied,Under the optimal conditions,the yield can reach to 97.2% and the purity is higher than 99%.Laboratory synthetic production is used in this paper.(3)For different oxygen balance of guanidinium azoterazolate/basic cupric nitrate, thermal decomposition, combustion performance and gas product are tested by the experiment. The heat of combustion decreases with the increase of oxygen balance. When GZT:BCN= 22.94:77.06,the minimum is 953.14 kJ/kg. TG-DSC-MS test shows that gas products contains H2O、N2、CO、NO、CO2.This kind of gas-generating agent is less harmful to human body after burning because of less harmful gas composition, it is a safe and efficient gas-generating agent.(4) Under the principle of zero oxygen balance, optimizing the gas-generating agent by adding the guanidine nitrate. The heat of combustion increases because of adding the guanidine nitrate, the maximum is 2001.9 kJ/kg.Guanidine nitrate can improve the ignition performance and the efficiency of ignition. TG-DSC-MS test also shows that gas products contains H2O、N2、CO2, Each component completely combusts with less harmful gas components.
