In order to solve the uneven distribution between energy and load, HVDC projects as well as petroleum and natural gas pipeline projects had entered a period of large-scale construction. Due to geographical conditions, they inevitably cross or parallel in some areas. The DC earth electrode under the mode of Under mono-pole ground return operation injects enormous ground current into the ground, which makes the corrosion influence of buried mental pipelines be more severe. And it is imminent to ensure the safe operation of buried metal pipelines which are close to the DC earth eledtrode. Therefore, the reseach on the interference law and protective measures is necessary. This paper analyzes the mechanism of corrosion on the buried metal pipeline caused by ground current from DC earth electrode, summarizes the limits according from literatures and standards on the issue. Modeling and analysising the distribution polarization potential on the buried metal pipeline caused by DC constant electric field, and then the safety distance between DC earth electrode and buried metal pipelines were calculated. And then several common engineering mitigation method were modeled and calculated, and got the protection effect and its application.
