This paper takes Meishan Nuo as the research object. By analysing application of the tangible and intangible symbols in the soft adornment design, it can highlight the characteristics of Meishan Nuo art, and experience Meishan people’s habits and cultural identity.Nuo ceremony is the core, Nuo altar is the carrier, Nuo mask is the sign, Nuo opera, Nuo dance, Nuo skills such as related Nuo custom are the main content, which to express good wishes, such as exorcisming by the epidemic disease, eliminating disaster, praying to reconcile, good weather and the world peace. Among them, Nuo carving use embossed, engraved, carved. Describe facial features apply straight, wavy lines and arcs. Style is concise and fluent, modeling rough mad dignified. Patterns use triangle lines, curves and lines, spiral lines, wave patterns and so on; Color of Nuo surface is prominent, highlight the primary and secondary, different color represents different character. Nuo face color contrast, highlight the difference between different personality traits of different color represents. In a word, Meishan Nuo is a "living fossil" in the process of multi national integration in Hunan Province.Based on the Meishan Nuo symbols, This paper is intention to explore of soft adornment design, induce principles and methods of extraction, analysis application principle and method. It can be verificated that Meishan Nuo symbols in the soft adornment design application is effective. The use of modern design methods-reconstruction and metaphor, paying attention to the popular patterns and colours, combination with new materials, new technology and other innovative ways, Shape, pattern, color of Meishan Nuo are referenced directly or re-design, by appling with simple lines and fashion colour piece, to sum up to the theme of visual language, appling in bedding, curtains, kitchen utensils, accessories, etc specifically, the traditional and modern two different style series of soft decoration have been designed. The original design with Chinese national characteristics, not only embodiing the characteristics of modern products, improving added value of product, but also bringing new visual symbol experience of the ancient Meishan Nuo, a very seductive mystery of culture can be built, and Meishan unique charm of regional culture shown.
