The exploration target zones of N well block is Putaohua oil layer that is thin pay zones in A oilfield. It has been developed nine years, and the development way is horizontal wells combined vertical wells and vertical well injection and horizontal well production. At the initial stage of development, horizontal wells have relatively high production, which make the well block produce high efficiently. But it has some problems such as the control degree of water drive and the complete coefficient of horizontal well are low during the development process. For analyzing affecting factors of block development effort and adjusting development pattern, this paper selects six affecting factors and applies grey relation method to weighty analysis about these factors on the basis of analyzing the development problems in well block, and the major adjustment mthods have been made.Firstly, the geologic and development characteristics of N well block have been analyzed. The dynamic curves of well numbers, oil production and water cut have been drawn. The production performance of well block, development characteristics of horizontal well, and development efforts of horizontal well group have been analyzed. In the meantime, the major problems of development have been confirmed.Secondly, for the development problems that the control degree of water drive, the complete coefficient of horizontal well are low and there are many invalid wells, affecting factors of well area development efforts have been selected, the weighty of geologic and human factors has been calculated by grey relation method. The major affecting factors of development efforts for each well group has also been ensured, and the reasonable adjustment means have been proposed.Thirdly, according to the basic static and dynamic data, the 3D facies-controlled geological model of well block by Petrel, and mathematical modeling has been developed by Eclipse. Based on the simulation model, the plane remaining oil and the vertical remaining oil and remaining oil type has been shown.Lastly, on the basic of history matching, the reasonable adjustment means have been confirmed by remaining oil reserves distribution combining grey relation method. The combination development of vertical wells and horizontal wells has been researched from the injection-production ratio, injection-production way, water injection process and horizontal well stimulation. The development effort of every adjustment mean has been forecasted by using numerical reservoir simulation, and the final adjustment method of well block which is horizontal wells combined vertical wells have been ensure.
