With the continuous development and utilization of crude oil, the water content in oilfield production fluid is increasing year by year, and the problem is becoming more and more serious. The most of oilfields have entered high water cut stage, and the water content in some oilfield production fluid has even reached more than ninety percent. How to improve the separation efficiency of crude oil and reduce the pollution of waste water has become an urgent problem in oil production industry.In this paper, a small separator which can separate oil, gas and water form oilfield production fluid is designed by using the technology of coalescing oil-water separation and gravity separation. The separator can detect the water content and oil content in the crude oil conveniently. It has simple and compact structure, high separation speed.The research content of this paper includes four aspects:determination of separation scheme, overall structure design, construction of test platform, simulation of the effect of the separation of crude oil by using different corrugated plate. Scheme design of small oil separator is determined on the basis of analysis of the existing crude oil separation mechanism:the separation of oil, gas and water is realized through the shaft to drive the corrugated board moving up and down in crude oil mixture. The overall structure of small oil separator system is designed, especially the structure of separator, including the design of the separation vessel’s mechanical structure, the design of the corrugated board, the calculation of the transmission device and the design of the lifting mechanism. The problems of wear and corrosion in the separation of crude oil are taken out. Separation of oil-water mixture experiment is carried out by setting up the test platform, and using different materials, different numbers, different waviness and different placement angles of corrugated board. In this paper, fluent simulation software is used to simulate and analyze the separation effect of multiphase mixed flow field by using different number of corrugated plate, which can provide reference for optimization of small crude oil separator.
