As the foundational and important part of photovoltaic technology industry, Optical glass is wildly used in optical instruments lens, prisms, mirrors and windows, etc. Optical glass cutting is an important process of optical glass production. At present, entirely dependent on hand-cut optical glass, cutting quality, efficiency of optical glass and production safety cannot be guaranteed. Thus, independent research and development of optical glass cutter has important practical significance, it will greatly enhance our international competitiveness in the optical glass production areas.Basis the cutting process of the optical glass, this paper designed by mechanical mechanism, control system and auxiliary equipment of optical glass cutting system. Main mechanical structure parameters to the system design and manufacturing, discusses the adopted based on structure light and camera to realize real-time volume scanning principle and technology of optical glass, optical glass strip was realized using the upper system of automatic volume scanning, PLC under a system realized the automatic feeding of optical glass, pushing, cutting materials, and other functions.Optical glass cutting section quality issues are a focus of research of optical glass cutting and also the difficult problem. Cutting section quality affecting the subsequent deep processing of optical glass, there will appear lots of processing waste if the cutting section quality cannot be effectively controlled, bringing huge benefits on losses. Used the cutting method of “temperature difference + stress”, by controlling the cutting implement variable mechanical characteristics combined with ANSYS analysis and optimization,proposing a method for cutting optical glass strips, effectively controlling of the section quality, improve the cutting quality of optical glass.
