Ramie fiber has been used as textile materials for hundreds of years in China. One of the most famous product of ramie is Liu yang Chinese linen, which is a kind of ramie handmade products. With the development of modern technology, the application of ramie has been expanded to many areas, such as, health care, green composite, ect..In order to improve the properties of fibers, reduce the environment pollution and the cost of degumming, hydrogen peroxide stabilizer used for oxidation degumming was systematicly studied in this paper..The stabilizer can decrease the decomposition speed of hydrogen peroxide, and therefore improve the tensile properties of degummed fiber by reducing the celloluse damage caused by over oxidation. In this paper, five kinds of stabilizers, i.e, YZ-1126, EDDHANa, FY107, SW15, CN-215 were studied by orthogonal test. And the parameter of degumming, such as, the dosage of the stabilizer, the dosage of sodium hydroxide, the time of oxidation was optimized simultaneously. The results of experiment showed that FY107 was the most suitable stabilizer for oxidation degumming of ramie, and the optimum parameter were shown as follows: the dosage of FY107 was 1%, the dosage of sodium hydroxide was 4%, and the oxidation time of 50 min.The residual hydrogen peroxide was tested by titration method. And the mechanism of FY107 was studied by testing the residual hydrogen peroxide in degumming solution with and without FY107 in the whole degumming process The results showed that the FY107 can slow down the decomposition speed of hydrogen peroxide, and the oxidation reaction of H2O2 was prolong for about 20 min. And the time range of FY107 is 50-70 min, the effective oxidation temperature is 70-90℃.According to the effect of stabilizer FY107 on hydrogen peroxide concentration, single factor test was used to study the effect of FY107 on the properties of ramie fiber. The effect of the dosage of FY107, the dosage of sodium hydroxide, oxidation time and oxidation temperature on the properties of ramie fiber was studied. The results showed that with the increase of FY107 dosage, sodium hydroxide dosage and the time of oxidation, the breaking strength and elongation at break decreased, however further increase of these parameter would cause decrease of fiber properties. The performance of ramie fiber reached the best level when the dosage of FY107 was 1-3%, thedosage of sodium hydroxide was 3-5%,oxidation time was 50-70 min and oxidation temperature was about 80℃.Based on the study above, orthogonal test was used to optimized the oxidation degumming with the stabilizer FY107. The results showed the optimal parameter the dosage of FY107 was 1%,the dosage of sodium hydroxide was 4%, the oxidation time of 50 min and the oxidation temperature of 85℃. The test results show that FY107 can improved the properties of fiber significantly, the linear density, tenacity, elongation and work of rupture of fiber was increased by20.05%, 49.39%, 4.70%, 33.33%,respectively. Industrial scale of experiment was carried out in Guangyuan ramie industry Limited(Hunan Changsha). The results showed that, compared with the traditional degumming, the tenacity of fiber the rate of undegummed fibers and COD value of degumming wastewater was 1.4%, 46%, 17.87% lower, respectively. In general, the performance of the oxidative and fine hemp fiber, the degree of uniformity of the uniform degree, and the basic non raw hemp, can be used to achieve the same effect as the traditional. Infrared spectrum analysis(FTIR) showed that the use of FY107 did not change the cellulose and hemicellulose content in degummed fiber, however, the content of pectin decreased when FY107 was used X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis showed that the use of FY107 did not cause any change on crystalline form and Crystallinity in degummed fibers. The crystallinity of fiber degummed with and without FY107 was 79.39% and 76.57%, respectively.
