With the continuous development of China’s manufacturing industry, China’s economy is developing rapidly, and China’s carpet industry is also developing rapidly. However, most of the carpet weaving equipment in China needs to be imported from abroad, which seriously restricts the sustainable development of China’s carpet industry. Although the domestic has successfully developed a self owned intellectual property carpet weaving equipment. But there is still a certain gap in the work efficiency and the speed. Therefore, in order to promote the sustainable and efficient development of carpet industry in China, it has significance to research and analyze the main shaft system of carpet loom.The main spindle system of the whole machine is the heart of the whole machine, and the dynamic characteristics of the coupling system directly affect the working efficiency and the stability of the machine. The research object of this paper is the coupling system of the carpet pile machine, different transfer matrix method is used to model the coupling system, and the natural frequency and critical speed of the spindle and the corresponding vibration mode are analyzed.(1) The composition and operating characteristics of the main shaft system of the carpet loom are introduced. Based on the basic theory of Prohl transfer matrix method, mathematical modeling of the main shaft, and the calculation by using MATLAB software. The natural frequency and critical speed of the main shaft are obtained, and the corresponding mode curve.(2) Mathematical modeling of the main shaft system of the carpet loom by using the transfer matrix-impedance coupling method. Similarly, the dynamic characteristics of the main shaft system are calculated by MATLAB software. The natural frequency and critical speed of the main shaft are obtained and the corresponding mode curve.(3) Use 0.6 meters width of carpet tufting machine as the research object. Prohl transfer matrix method and transfer matrix-impedance coupling method are used to analyze the model. The natural frequency and critical speed of the main shaft are obtained. At the same time, the theoretical and experimental results are compared to verify the rationality of the theoretical model and the correctness of the conclusion. And comparing the characteristics of two kinds of transfer matrix method, the transfer matrix-impedance coupling method is more accurate and closer to the actual situation of the complex coupling system of the cluster.In this paper, the critical speed of the main shaft of the cluster is obtained by theoretical analysis. The rationality of theoretical modeling and the accuracy of the results are verified by experiments. It provides theoretical basis for improving the speed of the main shaft of the carpet loom and the structural optimization design.
