To improve the energy-saving effect of building, the development of transparent heat-insulating glass coating drawn more and more attention. In this paper, transparent heat-insulating coating for building glass was prepared through styrene-acrylate emulsion as binder and antimony tin oxide(ATO) as heat-insulating filler. The influences of ATO content on the hardness, adhesion force, water absorption, light transmittance and heat-insulating effect were investigated in details.Styrene-acrylate emulsion was synthesized through semi-continuous addition method firstly. The effects of monomer mass ratio, acrylic acid dosage, emulsifier, initiator dosage on the film properties were discussed. The results showed that when St/BA mass ratio was 1.0,the film was transparent. The introduced of acrylic acid can improve the film properties significantly, with the increased of acrylic acid dosage, the water resistance decreased.When A-103/OP-10 mass ratio being 1.5, the styrene-acrylate emulsion is stable, while the hardness, adhesion force and water absorption were 2H, 1 degree, 12.7% along with emulsifier dosage was 1.5wt%, When initiator dosage rose from 1.4wt% to 2.2wt%, the water absorption increased from 11.7% to 17.3%.In order to improve the film properties, the latex was modified by reactive siloxane monomers. The effects of siloxane dosage on the hardness, adhesion force, water absorption of the films were investigated respectively. When the epoxy siloxane dosage being0.6wt%, the results showed that the hardness of the films enhanced from 2H to 3H, adhesion force increased from 1 degree to 0 degree and water absorption decreased from 12.7% to11.0%. When the vinyl siloxane dosage being 0.8wt%, the hardness and adhesion force of the films enhanced to 4H, 0 degree, water absorption decreased to 9.4%.ATO/styrene-acrylate emulsion transparent heat-insulating coating was prepared with siloxane modified styrene-acrylate emulsion and ATO. The influences of ATO content on the films properties, transmittance and heat-insulating effect were investigated. With the increased of ATO content, the results showed that heat insulation effect of the films enhenced, and the light transmittance rate decreased gradually. When ATO content was7.0wt%, the balanced temperature of the films was 6.9℃ lower than that of blank glass, the transmittance for visible light was 70.5% and the shield rate to near infrared light increased to 66.3%, the hardness and adhesion force of the films can reach 3H, 0 degree respectively.The experiment results showed that the ATO/styrene-acrylate emulsion film displayed high hardness and adhesion force, the water resistance of the films was great. The heat-insulating performance test showed that the film has high-quality heat-insulating effect.
