In order to solve the problems of the construction energy consumption, people paidmore attention to the study of transparent and heat-insulating coatings. In this paper, thiskind of coatings was prepared with nano-ATO dispersion solution as heat-insulating fillerand styrene acrylate emulsion as binder. The effects of vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES), epoxyresin(ER) on the hardness, adhesion, transmittance and heat insulation performance offormed films were investigated in paper.The synthesis of styrene acrylate emulsion was studied in this paper firstly. The effectsof copolymerization temperature, emulsifier type and dosage, initiator dosage, monomercomposition and acrylic acid dosage on particle size and the film properties were discussed.The results showed that the size of latex can achieve about78nm in the condition oftemperature86℃, contents of emulsifier2.5wt%, initiator1.6wt%and the mass ratio ofA-103/OP-102.0:1. When the mass ratio of St/BA and acrylic acid dosage was1.6:1and3.2wt%respectively, the water absorption, pencil hardness, adhesion force of films canreach12.6%,2H,1degree respectively.The styrene acrylate emulsion was modified by VTES and ER. The factors thatinfluenced particle size, films performance and latex viscosity was investigated, whichincluded dosage of VTES and ER. When the content of VTES increased to2.0wt%, thepencil hardness, adhesion force reached2H,1degree, respectively, and particle size was75nm. When the content of ER was7.0wt%, water absorption decreased to6.5%. The latexviscosity increased115mPa·s.ATO/styrene acrylate emulsion hybrid dispersion was prepared through nano-ATOdispersion solution and synthesized styrene acrylate emulsion. The influences of ATOcontent on the films performance, transmittance and heat insulation effect was investigated.When the content of ATO was7.0wt%, the pencil hardness and adhesion force of films canreach3H,1degree respectively. On the other hand, the average transmittance for visiblelight dropped to70.9%and the shield rate to near infrared light increased to66.8%. Theheat insulating results indicated that the coatings showed excellent heat-insulating effects.The balanced temperature of ATO/styrene acrylate emulsion was9.6℃lower than that ofblank glass.The experiment results showed that the ATO/styrene acrylate emulsion film has good heat-insulating effects, pencil hardness, adhesion force and water resistance of film.
