Steel Strand is made from a plurality of wires twisted together, due to the high strength steel, light weight and other characteristics, so that the Steel strand is stable and reliable in the engineering, and is widely used in industrial production.At present, steel stranded drawing is still using the traditional method of experience and test, but making the existence problem of high testing cost, low production efficiency and easy to be influenced by human factors etc. Aiming at the above problems, in this paper,using the finite element method of steel strand drawing process were investigated in detail, established steel stranded wire drawing process system.This paper is based on the theory of metal plastic deformation,studied the working principle of steel stranded drawing, studied the stress situation of drawing process, the paper has simulated the forming process by ANSYS for two dimensional and three dimensional, studied on the process parameters(die angle, friction coefficient, etc) effect on the forming processthe relationship between the process parameters and the pulling force, the distribution of stress and strain and metal flow law,etc, to which provide a theoretical basis for optimization of drawing process parameters.Secondary development and application of ABAQUS, realizing the multi-pass drawing parameters of steel strand,Through the simulation of steel Strand drawing process, analysis of multi-pass drawing process is superior to single pass drawing process has obtained;this experiment optimizes multi-pass drawing process;analyzes the process of drawing the distribution of temperature field and the influence of process parameters on temperature field. Using Matlab to Prediction of steel strand the experience formula mold temperature was modified, the result is more close to the measured temperature value.These can guide the production.Through the interface program to realized the connection between VB、ANSYS and Matlab, and establishment the interactive interface of the steel strand drawing process system. Users can easily and quickly use ANSYS to realize finite element analysis for steel strand drawing process, and use Matlab to predict the drawing out of steel strand mold temperature. These can improve the production efficiency.
