With the continuous development of automation technology, laser equipments have been widely used in industrial, medical and other fields for high beam energy, high efficiency, no pollution, etc. As a perfect combination of laser technology and control technology,Rotating laser machining is an irreplaceable part in laser machining area. Rotating laser machining, adding a rotary table on the base of traditional equipment, works by radiating a laser beam on the surface of the workpiece.This paper investigated the rotating laser machining. In order to improve the machining precision, this paper combined the laser technology and the intelligent control technology. Fuzzy control technology was employed to control the stepper motor of rotary table to ensure the accuracy of the chuck rotation, improve the system stability and achieve accurate machining of rotary laser. This paper mainly includes the following contents:Firstly, the rotating laser machining machine system was introduced which includes laser systems, laser control systems, laser cooling systems, lifts, rotary tables and other research.Secondly, there usually exists swing, losing step, out of step when the stepper motor starting and stopping. So the control algorithm stepper motor control system was discussed.Based on the comparison of PID control, the fuzzy control, and the fuzzy PID control, a fuzzy PID controller of the stepper motor was designed by controlling the stepper motor with the fuzzy PID control algorithm.Thirdly, a series of simulations for stepper motor were conducted using MATLAB.The models of traditional controlled and fuzzy self-controlled stepper motors were constructed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. And the corresponding simulation results have been contrasted.Finally, the hardware system of the stepper motor was designed by taking the microcontroller of STC89C52 with flash memory inside as the key component and combining the modules of power circuits, clock circuits, reset circuits and serial communications. The stepper motor was controlled by extending the peripheral equipment and the interface circuit. The function of segmentation was realized by taking the chip of3955 as the motor drive and turning the pulse signal sent out by the control system into the angular displacement of the stepper motor.The simulation results show that the stepper motor control system constructed in this paper can improve the circumstances of out of step, lost step and the oscillation of stepper motor itself. This system can also greatly increase the response speed for quickly start and stop of the motor and improve the efficiency of laser rotation machining to ensure a steadymachining process.
