Vertical mill is a grinding equipment which is widely used in industrial production.At present, the common problem of domestic vertical mill is oversized mechanical vibration, and the dynamic load of grinding roller generated by material and grinding plate serves as the exciting force to excite vibration of vertical mill system. Therefore,dynamic load data on the grinding roller in working condition is very important parameter to solve the mechanical vibration of vertical mill, while the theoretical equation of dynamic load of grinding roller has not yet been proposed. Dynamic load of grinding roller is difficult to measure due to the limit of testing methods, so it has not been more mature theoretical research at home and abroad. Theoretical and computer simulation calculation methods of solving grinding roller dynamic load of vertical mill are studied in this paper, and the experimental verification is done. Research contents are helpful to work out the problem of solving dynamic load of vertical mill, and it has theoretical significance and practical value for improvement and development of vertical mill.In this paper, two ways of theoretical and simulations calculation methods are used to solve dynamic load of vertical mill. Firstly, dynamics physical model and mathematical model of grinding system of vertical mill is built according to solid model of vertical mill.Meanwhile, vibration signal collected by dynamic signal acquisition and analysis system of DASP during the work of vertical mill is substituted into dynamics mathematical model,and MATLAB programming is used to solve out the dynamic load of grinding roller.Secondly, discrete element software of EDEM is used to model and simulate the process which cement clinker particles are crushed through grinding roller system of vertical mill,and dynamic data of dynamic load of grinding roller is determined. In order to verify the reasonableness of two kinds, a kind of experimental facility of vertical mill whose crash principle the same as vertical mill device’s is designed, and then the whole system is drawn, machined, installed and debugged. Finally, the crushing experiment is conducted about the experimental device, and DHDAS dynamic data acquisition system which acquires the vibration signal of experimental device during its working and dynamic loadsignal of grinding roller is used.Based on the study mentioned above, the theoretical and the simulation calculation methods are conducted on dynamic load of grinding roller of experimental device of vertical mill. Meanwhile, contrastive study is done by comparing the two kinds of results obtained with experimental results, and the characteristics of two kinds of solving method are evaluated. The results show that if the fuselage structure data is known and mechanical vibration signal can be measured,the theoretical calculation methods on grinding roller dynamic load of vertical mill is reasonable,and this method is suited to solve partial waveform of dynamic load of grinding roller.While if the working parameter and structure data of vertical mill is known,the dynamic load of grinding roller of simulation calculation method are closed to the experimental results on power spectrum density,and can be as equivalent signal in some cases.
