The oil derrick is the key bearing equipment of oil drilling rig system, it plays a fundamental role in the oil production process, its security relationship with the workers’ personal safety, property safety, and the working efficiency of the drilling system, and so on. Do the vibration test and strain test on it is an important part to ensure security. With the continuous development of modern technology, virtual testing equipment to replace traditional testing equipment has become a trend in the test and measurement industry. In this paper, on the basis of selecting the appropriate hardware, develops a test system for vibration test and strain test of oil derrick by using the Lab VIEW virtual instrument development platform.First, does the hardware design of test system. According to the test requirements, provides a prerequisite for the test by selected accelerometers, resistance strain gauges, data acquisition equipment, and so on.Second, develops the oil derrick test system based on Lab VIEW platform. It consists of three parts: the first part is the login module of test system, it plays a protective role for the test system;the second part is vibration test module, it can achieve the vibration test; the third part is strain test module, it can achieve the strain test. Among them, the vibration test module and strain test module is the core of the test system.Then, establishes the finite element model of ZJ70 drill training model in petroleum engineering lab of our school by using the ANSYS, does the statical analysis and modal analysis, and on this basis, combines with the traditional oil derrick layout method of sensor and principle of sensor placement, completes the optimal placement of the sensor for the vibration test and strain test.Last, does the strain test and vibration test on the ZJ70 drill training model by using the oil derrick test system based on Lab VIEW platform. Through the test, obtaining the frequency, strain, stress and other information of the model, storaging original signal, filtered signal, RMS data of the test signal of the model, provides accurate data for oil derrick safety evaluation.
