Microwave electrodeless ultraviolet lamp is used to oxidative degradation of VOCs, which always produce a large amount of ozone. Ozone can react with VOCs, however, the residual ozone always exist, which is harmful to our health. This paper focuses on the removal of residual ozone in the treatment of waste gas. Ultraviolet lamp with 185 nm wavelength is used as ozone generator. Study the activated carbon and manganese silver catalyst suppored on activated carbon removal of ozone, and to the better of the activated carbon manganese silver catalyst to run the test in the project. Main research content includes:In the research of activated carbon removal of residual ozone, five different kinds of activated carbon are studied, and the activity order in the removal of the ozone is: coconut shell activated carbon>coal activated carbon>wood activated carbon>activated carbon fiber>apricot shell activated carbon. The influence of condition is also studied, and the results show that the initial ozone concentration, relative humidity, temperature, residence time and residual organic compound have an effect on the activity of the activated carbon. The life of activated carbon is investigated, and the results show that the activity of the activated carbon is attenuated with time. Using dry method to regenerate activated carbon could recover part of activity. From the TPD characterization of reaction before and after of activated carbon, could confirm that a redox reaction is happened between the ozone and activated carbon. When the initial ozone concentration is 10 ppm, ozone breakthrough removal amount can reach 604.88 mg O3/g AC.In the study of ozone removal by activated carbon catalyst, different preparation methods of manganese catalyst are studied. The manganese catalyst prepared by sol method has the best performance, and the breakthrough removal amount is 3.5 times that of activated carbon in the same condition. In order to further improve the activity of manganese catalyst, composite metal manganese catalyst is studied, and find manganese silver catalyst supported on activated carbon has a better activity. When the loading of manganese is 0.8%, the loading of silver is 0.5%, the catalyst shows the best performance. When the ozone concentration is 55 ppm, amount of ozone breakthrough removal is 1086.65 mg O3/g catalysts.The activity of manganese silver catalyst under different influence factors is investigated. The results show that the initial ozone concentration, relative humidity, temperature, residence time and residual organic compound have an affect on the catalytic decomposition of ozone. When the initial concentration of ozone is 10 ppm, ozone breakthrough removal amount is 1326.02 mg O3/g catalysts. Activated carbon loaded manganese silver in the actual engineering test run show close to the level of laboratory cativity.
