Salen coordination compounds are important in the field of transition metal coordination chemistry and stereochemistry. Complexes formed by self-assembly have various structures and unique optical, electrical and magnetic properties, are attractive to researchers, and become an important current topic in crystal engineering, supermolecular chemistry and asymmetric catalysis. Salen organic metal framework (MOF), with the characteristics of stable structure, porosity, a uniform pore distribution, can be used as a hydrogen storage materialsl, drug delivery carriers, chemical sensors etc, as well as excellent catalysts. We have synthesized 5 chiral Salen ligands, dicarboxyl ligands and dipyridyl ligands:(R,R)-(-)-N,N’-Bis(5-(4-azopyridyl)salicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (L1), (R,R)-(-)-N,N’-bis(3-tert-butyl-5-carboxylsalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (L2), (R,R)-(-)-N,N’-bis(5-(4-azopyridyl)salicylidene)-1,2-dinaphthyline (L3), (R,R)-(-)-N,N’-Bis(3-tert-butyl-5-(4-azopyridyl)salicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine(L4), (R,R)-(-)-N,N’-bis(5-(4-benzoic)salicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine(L5). These ligands react with different transition metals to give coordination compounds. Single crystals of L1, L2 and L4 complexes are grown via diffusion method, and determined by X-ray diffraction, the XPRD pattern and TG curves are measured. We investigated the catalytic properties of Mn(Ⅲ) coordination polymer on the epoxidation of styrene, α-methyl styrene, indene and cycloalkene under different conditions. The results were determined by GC and GC-MS. Fluorescence properties of the single crystals are explored.
