The 5m plate mill is one of the most advanced plate mill in the world, and also is the earliest production of the 5m-width plate mill, which the scale of production is 1.8 million tons. As the steel production increase year by year, and the product diversify, the equipment is in the critical state of high load operation for a long time. Which causes that the equipment degradation trend intensifies obviously, rolling stability decreases gradually, serious problem of equipment and products are presented. Recently, the heavy plate mill appears rolling force deviation on the finishing mill. Which lead to export rocker phenomenon in a plate, increases the cut loss, and affects the quality. When the rolling force deviation appears, especially the rolling force deviation more than 100 tons, it would influence the rolling stability seriously, reduce the service life of the equipment. Aim at the rolling force deviation in hot rolling mill, the paper simulates the rolling process and analyzes the main factors influencing the rolling force variation.First of all, Establish the mathematical model for 5 m plate rolling process base on the finite element method. Study the influence of the roll crow, roll crossing, bending force, roll tilt, and the roll wedge. Also simulate the actual rolling conditions, and determine the various factors affecting the proportion.Second, according to the rolling PDA data, choose the PDA data of three times typical product between May 2013 to May 2014, and analysed the relationship between typical process parameters and rolling force deviation, as well, the conclusion was given.Through the finite element simulation analysis and field data analysis, shows that the driving side rolling force is greater than the operating side rolling force. The roll crow, roll crossing, bending force, roll tilt, and the roll wedge are the major factor of rolling force deviation, especially, the bending force. And according to the analysis results, this paper puts forward the proposals to eliminate or ease the deviation of rolling force.
