The coal mine production safety has been paid great attention because of the frequency occurrence of coal mine accidents. So it becomes a major problem around the world that how to acquire geography and environment information timely and accurately for emergency rescue, reducing casualties and property losses. With the progress of science and technology, the rescue robot has been developed. After the disaster, the rescue robot can enter into the underground in the first time to detect and return the environment information of the accident. Based on the research of wireless channel characteristics data transmission in the coal mine, a monitor system of coal mine rescue robot was designed. It used the coal mine rescue robot and WIFI technology as the main body and the main research work is as follows:Firstly, the application status of coal mine rescue robot and wireless communication technology in the mine at home and abroad were described. The topic origin and the research significance were proposed. Several kinds of short distance wireless communication way were described and comprised. The result showed that the WIFI technology has more advantage compared with other wireless technology application in the mine. Then, the electromagnetic wave propagation theory and wireless channel characteristics in coal mine was analyzed. It also demonstrated the feasibility of WIFI technology in the coal mine application further more.Secondly, the path loss model based on RSSI was improved by the least square method. A representation of the multi-path effect correction factor t was added in the model. The measurement and simulation result showed that the improved model is more consistent with the actual situation of the wireless signal propagation in coal mine.Thirdly, the monitor system of coal mine rescue robot was designed. In the hardware, the system was mainly consisted of the mine roof rail, rescue robot, the PC,wireless AP and the detection terminal nodes. In the software, the devices communicated through the C/S(Client/Server) way to realize the transmission and storage of monitoring data.Finally, the comprehensive monitoring interface was generated by using the VS2010 software. The running results showed that the monitoring host can display theenvironment information in coal mine clearly and correctly. The system reaches the expected design objective. It will have very good application prospect and popularization value.
