With the exploitation of oilfields, domestic and foreign countries have gradually entered the phase of high water cut with faster water breakthrough and rapidly declined production, which leads to increasing difficulty on the further development of reservoirs. However, a great amount of underground residual oil is still stored and the main target of the current task is to put these remaining oil out of the ground to a great extent. In order to achieve this goal, the distribution of remaining oil, whose researching methods include reservoir description, geological modeling and reservoir numerical simulation, should be precisely analyzed, due to which research work on next step development technology policy is prepared, and the purpose to effectively improve the corresponding oilfield recovery is finally achieved.According to current development situation of WQ area, reasonable development technology policy is researched, due to which remaining oil is effectively exploited. WQ area where rolling exploration is operated, has five mainly units, respectively named Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5. Sand bodies in the WQ are analyzed in the paper based on the overall description of reservoir, construction figures and sand body thickness figures of small layers. The development results of WQ area is poor because the restriction of the complexity of geological conditions. Five mainly blocks are divided in WQ area due to figures about each small layer thickness of sand bodies. The author matched the fluid production and oil production in the whole area and single well, and obtained remaining oil distribution of small layers. Reservoir engineering method is applied to the analysis of current well patterns and well spacing in Q1 block, which shows that the poor well pattern adaptability. Optimal development plan is obtained by means of the research on the scheme adjustment based on the remaining oil distribution and current well pattern.
