Petrochemical industry is a big consumer of energy. Energy use in the petrochemical industry is restricting China’s overall energy and economic development. The energy consumption of devices and equipment is the most crucial part of petrochemical overall energy consumption, and the evaluation of devices and equipment is the basis of energy-saving reform. With the developme nt of computer technology, the use of software in energy-saving evaluation is becoming more and more widespread. The petrochemical device energy-saving evaluation database system was developed to evaluate the energy efficiecy of devices and equipment efficiently and conveniently, and provide the reference basis to energy-saving work.The software frame and the database structure were designed to meet the demands of petrochemical industry energy efficiency evaluation, through investigating large numbers of literatures at home and abroad.The software system consists of five modules, system enactment, device information, energy-saving evaluation, evaluation database, energy-saving training. Energy-saving evaluation module includes energy types and numbers statistics of devices, so as to calculate the composite energy resource consumption amount a ton of crude oil; Three-link model method connected with external standard method and analogical analysis method were used in this module, to complete the analysis of device evaluation; Some typical index were choosed to estimate equipment energy efficiency level. Database module involves in five database to support the evaluation, energy conversion value, high consumption products and equipment, recommended equipment, device information, equipment information(heating furnace information, compressor information, and pump information). Energy-saving training module includes energy-saving guidebook, evaluation cases, advanced technology, laws and regulations, energy-saving knowledge, to supply the enterprises with training material.As the leading device in refineries, a typical a tmospheric and vacuum distillation unit was selected to test the rationality of this software, which presented a good performance. It was concluded that this software can make a rational evaluation of the energy efficiency level of petrochemical devices and equipment, which can guide energy-saving work efficiently.
