Porphyrin compounds with macrocyclic plane rigid frame structure and large π electron conjugated compounds have good photoelectric property and photosensitivity. The Schiff base with C=N functional groups can form coordination bond and conjugated bond and has special physical-chemical properties such as chromophore and chemical properties such as antibacterial activity. The introduction of the Schiff base in the active porphyrin ring may be produced with excellent performance and get the porphyrin-Schiff base compounds, so they have wider applications in the fields of photodynamic therapy, optoelectronic devices, luminescent materials and so on.Synthesis and optical properties of the novel porphyrin-Schiff base and their copper(Ⅱ)complex have been studied. The paper is composed of four parts: The first chapter is to introduce the structure and synthesis of porphyrin ring, and the application of porphyrin compounds. The second chapter is mainly about synthesis and its discussion of the porphyrin-Schiff base and its copper(II) complexes, and the compounds were characterized by means of FT-IR, 1HNMR. The third chapter is the spectral properties(including UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy) testing and research of porphyrin compounds. The fourth chapter is the conclusion. The results of the study showed that:Compared with raw materials TPP-NH2 and Cu-TPP-NH2, the molar absorption coefficient of UV-Vis spectra of porphyrin-Schiff base compounds increased, so it indicates that UV-Vis enhanced. Compared with TPP, the fluorescence quantum yield of porphyrin-Schiff base ligands have been improved to a certain extent, so they are expected to become red luminescence materials and photosensitizer.
