With the increasing scarcity of onshore oil and gas resources, the exploitation of offshore oil and gas resources, which is abundant, has become the trend of the world and the focus of worldwide attention. However, the undersea environment is harsh, conventional exploitation technology makes little economic benefit, therefore, subsea gas-liquid technologies and corresponding device, which can greatly improve the efficiency of subsea production came into being. This paper provides a kind of swirling gas-liquid separator, which has such features, such as compact structure, small size, high efficiency. Also, this paper is studying on the optimization design of its structure, the internal flow field numerical simulation and the influence which parameters on it.In this paper, by referring to the research and empirical formulas of existing onshore swirling gas-liquid separator which is called hydrocyclone, and combined with the actual seabed conditions, preliminarily design the 500 m structure of undersea swirling gas-liquid separator which is used for 500 m, and determine the structural parameters of the range of values.Appropriate structure parameter values are selected by scientific method which is called orthogonal experiment method. The internal gas-liquid flow field is simulated by using RSM model, basing on control-volume method and applying SIMPLE arithmetic. Then the article get the separation efficiency results by simulating and choose the optimal structure parameters by orthogonal experiment.The article uses optimal structural parameters to do numerical simulation and analyze the internal gas-liquid flow field. The law of the distribution of gas-liquid two phases, the separation characteristics, including the characteristics of velocity distribution and pressure distribution for gas-liquid two phases are simulated by computer. And the simulation results are analyzed and studied.The article uses software-Fluent to analyze the affect that different parameters(including structural parameters, operating parameters and physical parameters) to the law of the distribution of gas-liquid two phase and the separation characteristics, then get the changing rule between them.According to related API or GB standards, the corresponding structural component is designed, and materials are selected according to other common subsea equipments. Based on mechanical common standards, to complete the design and mapping of the subsea swirling gas-liquid separator.
