This paper was supported by High-end CNC Machine Tools and Basic Manufacturing Equipment-"The Development and Application of the Critical Technology on SLT Series Servo Turret and Power Tool Rest" and "The Development of T Series NC Turret and Its Application Demonstration in Inclined Lathe Bed NC Lathe ".NC turrets include servo turrets and power turrets. In this paper, on the base of the structural characteristics of turrets, data storage structures of turret parts,3D model browse in the WEB, dynamic property analysis of the NC machine tool equipped with the NC turret were studied. Based on the function requirement analysis, software architecture was proposed. Finally, a rapid development platform was established to realize the optimal development design of NC turrets rapidly and efficiently.The main research work is as following:(1)The structure and operation theory of NC Turrets were analyzed. Then based on the function requirement analysis, the platform software architecture which was composed by Network user tier, WEB business tier and Data tier was constructed. And an application programming interface used to realize the architecture and the platform workflow were introduced.(2)The data storage structures of turret parts were studied. All the documents in the platform were divided into five categories, and the way to store each of them was specified. The integration of file system and database system was introduced to manage all the documents.(3)The security of the platform was discussed. Based on the technology of 3D model browse, visual query of NC Turrets was realized. A parametric design module was integrated to accelerate design and development.(4)The dynamic characteristics of a machine tools equipped with a SLT Series Servo Turret was analyzed, which will be used to guide the design of a CAE analysis module. The research work includes:a)The finite element modal of the lathe-bed was build, a modal experiment was performed to verify the effectiveness of finite element modal of the lathe-bed.b)A dynamic model of the NC machine tool equipped with the NC turret was set up to obtain its dynamic characteristics.c)The impact of guideway joint interface stiffness on dynamic characteristics of machine tools was analyzed. The mode shape shows a vibration direction, and the changing in guideway joint interface stiffness has a great influence on some modal frequency, while has little effect on the others.
