NC turret is one of the most important parts of expensive CNC. The reliability of CNC is mainly effected by the NC turret. In order to work effectively for improving the reliability level of NC turret, the reliability analysis and information management system of NC turret is designed.NC turret is one kind of mechanical products with electric control system and hydraulic control system. Its constructing and working theory are very complicated. The working environment of NC turret is also changeful and different. So there are all kinds of failure mode, failure cause and failure position appearing in the working of NC turret. It is difficult for researchers to gather reliability information. In order to solve this trouble, typical failure modes, causes, and positions of NC turret are summarized based on some repair information, characteristics of NC turret and experts’experiences. Failure tree is also built for qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, it helps do some previous preparation for the development of reliability analysis and information management system.The information system works with Weibull model or Index model, and these models need a large number of data. However, the data is extremely lack in the early stages of reliability research of NC turret, and traditional methods of model building is disabled. Two-parameter Weibull mixture distribution is able to adapt to statistical data better and introduced in the building reliability model. According to the certain serial NC turret locale test data, obtain the probability estimation of every point of failure based on Bayes theory method. Weighted least square method (WLS) is used to transform the parameter estimation problem into optimization problem, and differential evolution algorithm (DE) is introduced to obtain the 6 parameters of the reliability model. Building NC turret’s reliability model with small sample solves the problem of the reliability information management system’s defect and offers some supplement and support for the management system’s development.Developing the reliability analysis and information management system based on the SQL database and MATLAB after understanding the NC turret’s characteristics completely. This system has some basic functions such as information inputting, information query, system maintenance and so on. At the same time, it allows users to do some information statistic, build reliability model, compute reliability index and so on. This system can bring NC turret’s reliability research work higher efficiency.In order to improve the usability level of the information management system, the human-computer interface is designed conceptually again. The conceptual design involves the color, word, layout and function of the interface and it is based on user behavior analysis and psychology theory. Eye movement experiment is used to make sure the new design’s validity. And it estimates the interface’s usability level from efficiency of task execution and user psychological response. The results indicate that the new design is better than old.
