The indoor formaldehyde pollution was quite serious, which had serious impacted on people’s lives and health. It is also a research hotspot at home and abroad.In this paper, the dry water was prepared; the formaldehyde absorption performance and application performance in air purifier were investigated, dry water in non-woven bag formaldehyde absorption performance also was investigated.The effect of adsorption performance by formaldehyde decay, adsorption time, dry water mass, dish size, initial formaldehyde mass and air velocity was tested in a glass lab, which was used to simulate indoor formaldehyde pollution environment; And the adsorption performance compared with active carbon were tested; Kinetics of dry water adsorbed formaldehyde also were studied. The results showed that: when 1 g dry water was tiled in a dish with the diameter of 150 mm, initial formaldehyde quatity was 200 μg and adsorption time lasted for 120 minutes, the adsorption rate was 60 %; the adsorption performance of dry water was significantly better than most active carbon; the pseudo-second order model could provide the best correlation.The dry water was used in moral air purifier by modified the air purifier filter layer. The effect of air purifier performance by adsorption time, dry water mass and composition, filter layer structure were tested; Kinetics of the moral air purifier adsorbed formaldehyde also were studied; Last the Kinetics of self-made air purifier adsorbed formaldehyde also were studied. The results showed that: when filter layer with 8 g dry water, initial formaldehyde mass was above 200 μg and adsorption time lasted for 60 minutes, the adsorption rate was 80 %; the adsorption rate of self-made air purifier could up to 90 %, and then the formaldehyde concentration could be down to 0.1 mg/m3.The use of dry water was pioneered by non-woven. And a glass lab was used to simulate indoor formaldehyde pollution environment. The effect of air purifier performance by adsorption time, dry water mass, number of non-woven bag, shape of non-woven bag and air velocity were tested. The results showed that: when non-woven bag with 6 g dry water, initial formaldehyde mass was 200 μg and adsorption time lasted for 60 minutes, the adsorption reached equilibrium and adsorption rate was 45 %.
