Gas is the major hazard in coal mine production. With the improving of production capacity and mining speed at the working face, inevitably leading to the increasing of gas emission. Due to its long extraction time, high extraction rate, drainage system is simple, easy to manage, high level suction roadway has become the main method to solve the problem of gas overrun especially in high gas and spontaneous combustion thick coal seam. Therefore, scientific research and optimization of high pumping lane configuration parameters can maximized ensure high level suction roadway safe and efficient.On the basis of comprehensive analysis for the fracture in overlying strata, characteristics of gas accumulation in the fault zone of mining, ventilation and gas drainage system in 401102 working face, the paper defined a range of high level suction roadway layout through the experience formula, simplified the fluid flow field and gas concentration field for their complexity and changes. Gas concentration field in different layers(the vertical distance H and the horizontal distance L),drainage parameters(wind speed v and extraction ratio η) and section size was simulated with the software of Fluent. Make an analysis of the gas drainage effect, and the optimal parameters were assessed, and then contrast analysis had been carried on with the actual situation. The optimization measures can effectively improve the extraction efficiency of high level suction roadway and is of certain value for engineering application.
