The private network of oil and gas production of IOT is a communication network for production data transmission in the intra-group construction system. The construction of the private network is used to mainly guarantee the stable running of construction system and make sure real-time, efficiency, security and reliability of production data transmission.At present, IPv4 protocol is the mainstream protocol of computer network. Most of the Chinese private network of oil production uses IPv4 protocol. Since there are many network terminals in the oil and gas production of IOT, mass sensors and mobile devices are needed to be access to the network. The traditional IPv4 protocol can only provide 16M addresses. Obviously, this does not meet the needs for addresses for the oil companies. While IPv6 protocol, which is a new generation of the network protocol, has 128 address and can provide 2^128 addresses. It breaks the traditional networks limitations and is effectively capable to solve the addresses shortages. Therefore, in this paper, we study the application of IPv6 protocol on oil field private network; the problems that occur in the transition from IPv4 to IPv6, IPv6 address planning and assignation management as well as private network security etc.1. The research and application situation of IPv6 technology is analyzed and the features of IPv6 protocol technology are studied. Besides, based on the main transition technologies of IPv6 and IPv4 transition period, the problems existing in the transition period are analyzed. The transition strategy of the construction of the private network is determined according to transition requirements of the oil and gas production IOT private network between IPv6 and IPv4.2. Due to the oil and gas production private network scale, many business applications, and the problems of large quantities of IPv6 addresses, in this paper, a large oil and gas fields is selected as the tested object. The IPv6 address allocation scheme is proposed to solve the limitations that IPv4 can not meet the address requirements.3. The present situation of existing private network network is analyzed. The construction of the network architecture and private network scheme is designed based on the application requirements of the oil and gas production IPv6 private network. The transition technology is designed by making use of the transition technology. At the same time, the selective correctness and applicability of transitional scheme is verified through the test on the oil field site simulation environment.4. Based on the principles of information security rank protection, we analysize private network security requirements, access protection from private network, network border protection and data center protection. Besides, safety protection scheme is designed in detailed. It provides theoretical basis and practical significance to finally bulid low latency, high reliability, and wide coverage of IPv6 private network.
