In recent years, along with the rapid development of electrical chemical machining method, high-speed milling machining method and laser machining method. Low material removal rate of electrical discharge machining(EDM) becomes a growing disadvantage. It severely restricts the development of EDM. The primary reason is the discontinuity of time and space in EDM. The discontinuity of time refers to the intermittent discharge of EDM which makes use of pulse power supply, rather than continuous; The discontinuity of space refers to only one discharge occurred in a position in every pulse cycle of conventional EDM. To charge the discontinuity of time including pulse width and pulse interval can improve the problem of low material removal rate of EDM, but the application scope is very narrow. As for to promote the material removal rate, if people can minimize the discontinuity of space of EDM will have more space. Multi-circuit EDM is presented based on the idea.In this thesis,the principle of EDM using multi-electrode multi-circuit method is analyzed. As for as discharge process of EDM using multi-electrode multi-circuit method, it made use of Multisim software to model and simulate. On this basis, on the influence factors of charging time, this thesis studied by means of simulation analysis and carried out experimental verification.This thesis studied the influence of pulse frequency and compensation capacitance on the material removal rate of EDM using multi-electrode multi-circuit method. It compared the processing characteristics of multi-circuit EDM method in the different parameters, including surface processing quality, material removal rate and electrode wear. In addition, it also compared the processing characteristics of single-circuit EDM method and multi-circuit EDM method in the same parameters, including the above three aspects.The servo control principle and method of multi-circuit EDM are introduced. In consideration of features of EDM using multi-electrode multi-circuit method, the servo control system is designed and established. It is stable and reliable through experimental testing. Finally, this method has carried out application research, and 4 ? 4 spherical array is machined by this method.
