The multi-rope friction hoist plays a very important role in the mine production, and its operation safety is directly related to the continuity and reliability of the coal mine production. Aiming at the problem of unity in the research on the performance of friction hoist, a test platform of multi-rope friction hoist is designed to detect the performance of the whole machine, meanwhile the hardware and software of detection system of test platform is designed based on the requirements for experiment. The problem that the practice operation regulations of hoisting system are too difficult to be observed because of the property gap between single function test and actual working condition is solved efficiently.Firstly, the project of the test platform is designed based on the equivalent transformation between friction hoist and test platform, meanwhile the structure and working principle are described. The detection parameters of the test platform detection system are determined by detection mechanism of detecting subject. The detection of main shaft device, the detection of braking parameters and the related experiments of tension imbalance are emphasized for the detection method. The hardware design of detection system, sensor selection as well as the arrangement and installation are realized combining with the conditions of field detection and results studied.Second, the mechanical model of main shaft device is established and simulation analysis is achieved in ANSYS, and the location choice of the stress measuring points is completed preliminarily based on the analysis results. Furthermore, for the optimum combination of those primary measuring points the modal assurance criterion was used as fitness function to optimize with the improved particle swarm algorithm. The measuring points are arranged based on results of optimization and test requirement.Thirdly, combined with the strain detection requirements of the main shaft device, the hardware circuit of strain acquisition system is designed. Point-to-point communications is implemented for the wireless transmission of strain signal, besides the signal is transmitted to the host computer via ethernet. Accuracy of the strain detection system is checked by calibrator of strain.Finally, through the help of co-programming with LabVIEW, MATLAB and C++builder, all detection functions are realized, based on modular programming ideas, such as collection, recording, processing, and display. The field experiment shows that the test platform of multi-rope friction hoist detection system can accomplish the overall performance test, which supplies the experimental guidance and methodological instructions of detection for the performances.
