City road intersections has become the bottle-neck of the restricting city road traffic. A big part of the reason is the shortage of the plane intersection traffic’s capacity. According to city intersection traffic conditions, on the one hand, the urban road intersections layout has been basically finalized the design; on the other hand, the shortage of urban land resources, if we want to improve of the traffic, alleviate traffic jam, improve the capacity of the intersection traffic, reduce the vehicle delay in the intersection, the best traffic management measures is that making the traffic organization optimization, mining inherent ability of the intersection itself. Effective traffic organization measures can not only ease traffic congestion, reduce the pollution of the environment and save energy, also can give social bring huge economic benefits.The major objective of this article is to research the organization measures of the large plane intersection traffic, according to the traffic situation in WuHan, selecting intersection of Hong Kong Road as the research object. Through the intersection of Hong Kong Road’s investigation field,data processing, and the calculation that is according to the theoretical summary and analysis, with the aid of Paramics microscopic traffic simulation software, research the traffic organization optimization scheme of the Hong Kong Road’s intersection. This paper mainly work include the following two parts:(1) According to the avenue traffic investigation and intersection analysis of the intersection of Hong Kong Road, and "the urban road traffic planning and design standard ", we discussed the plane of the intersection traffic organization optimization measures and Suggestions that can improve the traffic capacity of intersection highly channelizing scheme.(2) the research according to a survey and traffic flow of traffic data of the road intersection of Hong Kong Road, using the Estimation function module to flow forecasting the OD of the Paramics situation traffic, it makes present situation traffic flow back-stepping each intersection import word. According to the push of OD data, the Webster timing model, and the plane intersection distribution optimization, we got the intersection optimal timing scheme eventually. Finally, we optimized scheme for verification with the aid of microscopic simulation software Paramics.
