ABSTRACT:Dynamic traffic guidance system, as an important part of Intelligent Transportation Systems, is becoming an important means to solve the increasingly prominent urban traffic problem. Travelers choose the route through the traffic-induced can maximize the performance of road transport infrastructure, which has a great significance on balancing road traffic flow, reducing delays and improving the operating efficiency of the transport system. Traffic guidance strategies assessed by vivid microscopic traffic simulation model can advance the theory to practice, which has a certain practical significance. So in this paper, a variety of guidance strategies were evaluated and analyzed through the Paramics microscopic simulation platform, to achieve the transition of theoretical research to practical application. The major research contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) Firstly, contrast of a variety of micro-simulation models was conducted, results show the Paramics microscopic simulation software can achieve dynamic traffic guidance function better. Then, Paramics was studied in detail in the main function of each module and API function.(2) Secondly, the paper focused on researching implementations of dynamic guidance strategies by Paramics microscopic simulation platform. Simple network model of two paths was established, then reasonable parameters were set, and the guidance strategies plugins were written by Paramics API functions, and be implemented.(3) Again, the paper has realized the three classic induction control strategies (Bang-bang, P and PI control) by using Paramics microscopic simulation platform under different traffic demand scenarios. With the average travel time and paths travel time deviation as evaluation indexes, the paper compared and analyzed the effect of the three classic induction control strategies and concluded that the effect of P strategic was the best, while the Bang-bang was the worst.(4) Finally, the paper proposed the discretization color VMS guidance strategy. Drivers became from guidance information passive executor to the active decision maker, routing decision was made according to speed-perception (obey uniform distribution and triangular distribution) to the information of the figure forms VMS board. By using the Logit discrete choice model, two kinds of perception were realized on the Paramics platform. With the average travel time and paths travel time deviation as evaluation indexes, conclusion was that demand, induction period and parameters, have impacts on the corresponding guidance strategies of two perceive models.
