As the general calculation method of supporting structure design of deep foundation pitat present, the simplified calculation method has some shortcomings in its basic theoreticalassumptions, as well as there is some differences from practice in the calculation results.However, the finite element as a general analysis method has great analysis function andadvantage in internal force and deformation of supporting structure of deep foundation pit.Therefore, in order to find out the differences between the two kinds of algorithm incalculating the internal force and deformation of the supporting structure and the keyinfluence factors, this paper calculates and analyzes comparatively with combining theirrespective advantages of the two kinds of calculation methods. Eventually it can realizereasonable application of the two kinds of calculation methods and guide design of supportingstructure in deep foundation pit.This article goes in this way: first, it reviews of the research status of theory related tothe simplified calculation and finite element analysis; secondly it chooses the simplifiedcalculation software which is generally used currently and professional finite element analysissoftware and discusses their basic theoretical assumptions respectively; then it establishes asimple example, and find out the key factors which influence the differences between thesimplified calculation and finite element calculation in calculating the internal force anddeformation of cantilever pile; Finally, the two types of algorithms are utilized reasonablythrough analyzing the differences caused by two kinds of calculating methods and adjustingthe key influence factors in actual engineering.The main research work includes as followed:(1)Briefly summarized the research status of earth pressure, embedded depth and internalforce and deformation of supporting structure in the simplified calculation method; introducedthe present status of research and development about the finite element method at home andaboard as well as its application in geotechnical engineering.(2)Introduced the basic theory of soil resistance in simplified calculation method,including the calculation of earth pressure theory, embedded depth calculation theory andcalculation of internal force and deformation theory; introduced the basic theory of the finiteelement, including the constitutive relation of rock and soil and elastoplastic stress analysis aswell as supporting structure’s simulation.(3) Selected the representative of rock and soil mass in Guangzhou area, and thendiscovered the differences between the simplified calculation method and the finite element method so as to find out the key influence factors through calculation and comparisonanalysis of the simple example.(4) In the actual engineering condition, contrasted the simplified calculation and thefinite element calculation to discover the differences and realized reasonable application ofthe two methods by adjusting the key influence factor.
