In recent years, with the rapid development of super high-rise buildings in China, theheight of the building is constantly being refreshed. At the same time a large number ofhigh-rise business district and residential building area were built. New challenges wereemerged for high-rise building fire control and suppression. In addition to the automatic firealarm and fire extinguishing system, there are no special fire protection requirements of theexisting fire safety regulations for high-rise buildings. The comparative analysis of the firesafety regulations of the United States, Britain, France, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kongprovides a reference for the strengthening of our super high-rise building fire safety technicalrequirements. Advice were proposed on fire resistance rating, fire separation distance, firedepatment, safety evacuation, fire fighting facilities and fire rescue.A series of measures were given to prevent the spread of the fire inside the building. Tothe outside along the building’s exterior vertical, there are a few provisions to prevent thespread of fire of the existing codes. The rescue height limit of current fire and rescueequipment and facilities is50m. For super high-rise buildings, a way to prevent the spread offire along the exterior walls is badly needed to avoid tremendous damage of life and propertyand significant social impact. The author is the key members of the real fire simulationexperiments. In this paper, the real fire simulation experiments and numerical simulationmethods were carried out to study the effect of blocking the spread of fire vertically of thewall under windows and the overhanging eave. The design requirements of the wall underwindows and the overhanging eave were proposed. The height of wall under windows shouldnot be less than1.2m and the width of overhanging eave should not be less than1.0m. therecommendations provide new methods to the existing fire safety regulations.
