According to the relevant department statistics, the incidence of the rear-impactranked first of all accidents in the proportion on national highway. The fires resulting fromfuel leakage might are to happen in the accidents, which can bring about additionalcasualties. Therefore, how to reduce the risk of fuel leakage in the rear-end impact, reduceoccupant injuries and improve rear-end collision safety is a serious problem. The object of study is a SUV model. According the “GB20072-2006therequirements of fuel system safety in the event of rear-end collision for passenger car” tobuild the rear impact model of full vehicle. In view of the study crashworthiness of the rear-end collision and fuel systemstability, the simulation results are analyzed. The lack of energy absorption of rearlongeron and the energy absorption area of car tail lead to the poor crashworthiness andfuel system security.First, the structure of the rear longeron were improved after using laser tailor-weldedblank design, effectively raising the rear side crashworthiness. On the basis of thisimproved model, regard the energy absorption area of car tail, the maximum effectiveplastic strain value of the fuel tank and so on as the evaluation to find the optimal materialmatching scheme, through the research on bumper crash beam, bumper bracket, rearlongeron body and the end of rear longeron. Through simulation, the program caneffectually improve the crashworthiness of the car tail structure and the safety of fuelsystem. In material matching scheme and based on consideration of the requirements oflightweight, the thickness of four components are optimized. Optimization results showthat the scheme is feasible.By the above methods, the crashworthiness SUV tail structure is effectively enhancedand he security of the fuel system is improved. All of the above researches will offer afeasible method in the improving the vehicle rear safety in the future.
