The principle of Precision steel ball drive mechanism is utilizing cycloid ballreducer meshing pair and steel ball constant meshing pair to realize precisiontransmission. Its advantages are no return difference, the structure of small size, hightransmission efficiency and strong carrying capacity, etc. Due to internal and externalcycloid groove are conjugate tooth profiles, once the conjugate relationship is damaged,which will make the transmission ratio no longer be constant, and also affect thetransmission of smoothness. In this paper, through analyzing the error of tooth profilemodification and the error of structure parameter on instantaneous transmission ratio ofthe deceleration meshing pair, and the effect about the stability of precision cycloid steelball is analyzed.The composition, working principle and the motion of meshing pair of the precisionsteel ball drive mechanism are analyzed. The motion characteristics of precision steel balldrive mechanism are introduced. Meshing situation of steel ball and the internal andexternal cycloidal groove-as is analyzed, the precision steel ball drive mechanismtransmission ratio constant conditions are gotten. The factors of effecting driving stabilityhas carried on the comprehensive discussion, the research emphasis in this paper ispointed out.According to the movement characteristics and regularity of steel balls in themeshing pair, the entire organization is simplified in to a kind of new model. While thesteel ball working around a week, how many teeth the internal and external turned arediscussed. The instantaneous transmission ratio of the push process and the return processare deduced.The definition of the tooth shape parameter error is introduced. the instantaneoustransmission ration function expression is deduced. According to the deduced formula ofinstantaneous transmission ration, while the tooth shape parameter as a single source oferror, the change rule of the instantaneous transmission ration is analyzed in detail byusing MATALB software, and the sensitive parameters are pointed out, which affect theinstantaneous transmission ration. According to the theory of tooth profile about inside and outside cycloid tank, theinside and outside the actual tooth profile equation of curvature and the curvature radiusare deduced. The position and the reason of the tooth profile modification are discussedin detail. And the method of enhancing transmission stability is introduced. Thecalculation formula of instantaneous transmission is deduced, which is about after toothprofile modification. Finally the influence of tooth profile modification quantity oftransmission ration by using MATLAB software.
