Building external window is an important part of building palisade structure withheat insulation, thermal insulation, lighting, ventilation and other functions。The impactbuilding external window has the on the indoor environment is complex and varied, thechoice and design of building external window is also put forward higher requirements.With the strong development of building energy efficiency, external window energysaving has been widely concerned. Due to special optical performance of buildingexternal window, building external window exist the contradiction between summerheat insulation and winter heat preservation requirements. There are many factors in thedesign of building outside the window, all of these factors will lead to the the dfferentinfluence external window the has on the indoor environment. Analyzing these factorsto determine the reasonable building external window choice and design strategy forarchitectural design personnel is of great significance.This article first introduces the basic choice and design parameters properties ofexternal window, analyses the composition of building external window, discusses thecalculation method of heat gain through building external window based on the theoriesof architectural environment foundation. Carrying out the research of building externalwindow in chongqing area, to know the current application status of building externalwindow, and software simulation is optimized on the analysis of building externalwindow performance.In order to study the different effect building external window has on the indoorthermal environment, built the building external window test platform, develop thewinter and summer test, analyzes the effect of different external window glass and theindoor thermal environment requirements, the influence of different external windowglass has on the indoor solar radiation, found that in the winter and summer Low-Edouble glazing heat insulation and preservation effect significantly, double glazing secondly, single glazing is the worst. In summer, indoor environment all day in aconstant process of heat gain by the dual function of solar radiation and temperaturedifference heat transfer between indoor and outdoor during the day; At night, indoor andoutdoor heat transfer change from outdoor to indoor heat transfer daytime to indoor tooutdoor heat dissipation. Throughout the winter indoor heat loss in a constant process ofmost of the time, but there is indoor overheat, indoor heat gain in a short. Then, in order to study the differences on external window choice and design ofdifferent types of building, simulate and analyze the influence external window has onbuilding air conditioning energy consumption under different toward and WWR.Simulation results show that, under the condition of no shading, different buildingexternal window, toward different, performance is different under the conditions of airconditioning refrigeration and air conditioning heating, impact on the annual airconditioning energy consumption, thermal comfort is also different. The choice anddesign of external window should be according to the thermal environmentrequirements and actual situation specific needs.
