The heat loss of external window of buildings accounts for high range in building’s totalpower consumption, it has huge potential and is always the key of energy saving design andtransformation in buildings. The thesis studies on transformation which is about adding abay-window to a external window of residential building which has existed in cold region andanalyses the effect of the quality in indoor environment after adding bay-window andbuilding loads of cooling and thermal. The thesis has provided the basis for energy-savingtransformation of external window of buildings in cold region.Thesis theoretically analyzed the building window’s effect mechanism of indoor lightenvironment and thermal environment, plus protruding window was deduced after the indoorair environment, light environment and thermal environment quality change, and plus theenergy conserving potential of the bay window transformation. P The thesis selected Xi ’an anexisting residential buildings, as the north and south bedroom indoor various environmentalquality testing, with testing results to verify the selected lighting and thermal environmentsimulation software suitability to our research, and the correctness of the established modeland boundary conditions.On the basis of above, the thesis analyzes the bay window stretched out the length of theouter wall of indoor air environment, the natural lighting and the influence of thermalenvironment.Select several kinds of commonly used building outside to do window materials,wind environment, light environment and thermal environment analysis research. Studieshave shown that cold areas existing residential building outside the window and bay windowafter modification, bay window out of outer wall length from0.4m to1.1m, with theincrease of bay window extended length, wind environment quality improving, lightenvironment and thermal environment almost unchanged, after transforming energy savingpotential is tremendous, in this topic simulation instance example, about30%energy saving,considering the installation cost, construction module, recommend bay window stretched outthe length of the outer wall is0.6m. Existing buildings and bay window transform, as a resident can transform itself to simple applicable method, building cooling and heat load,energy saving potential is tremendous, worth popularized in energy saving renovation in coldareas building window.
